Company History
Lovin' Lindy was formed in June 2005 by Eric and Stephanie Simpson. They missed the thriving swing scene they left in the Washington, DC area and felt strongly that Charlotte is a large enough city to have a bigger swing scene. They started teaching lessons for the community in January 2007.

Since then, Lovin' Lindy has grown to offer classes as often as 5 nights per week!  Lovin' Lindy also plays host to both a weekly Tuesday night dance with DJ and a monthly Saturday night dance with live music.  (Click here for more information about our dances.)

Eric and Stephanie created and sponsor the Hopewell HS Lindy Hop Club, which began October 2006 and has grown steadily ever since.  They are so proud of the amazing students who have joined the club and found a love for Lindy Hop!

In July 2007, local dancers Zoe Whittaker and Kirk Eisenbeis joined forces with Eric and Stephanie and began offering a Blues class, providing more variety and options for local dancers.

Eric and Stephanie are thrilled about the progress of Lovin' Lindy so far and look forward to a bright and dance-filled future.

"I liked dancing Lindy to some more contemporary music, such as Billy Joel, because it showed me that you could dance Lindy to anything."

"You did a wonderful job, and I enjoyed the class so very much. It was a nice challenge!"

"The best thing about this class was that you guys also believe we can learn the higher level moves, and you aren't afraid to push us!"
