CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR RECENT GRADUATES!!  WE'LL MISS YOU!!

Club Sponsors:  Mr. Simpson and Mr. Seneca

The Hopewell High School Swing Dance Club is held at Hopewell High School in Huntersville, NC. Cost is $15 dues per semester.  Only Hopewell students may participate.

We understand that you have many clubs, teams, and sports to choose from.  Please decide which is your top priority before joining the club.  If you miss more than 2 club meetings, you will no longer be able to participate in the club.  Our lessons build on what you learn in previous weeks.  We cannot re-teach week after week.  If you need to miss more than 2 weeks, please discuss with Mr. or Mrs. Simpson.  Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.

The Team
Auditions for the performance team will be held in September.  We will perform for the school and possibly the community.  Being a member of the team will require an additional time commitment for rehearsals, as well as performance commitments.

Eric and Stephanie Simpson

Mr. and Mrs. Simpson love working with high school students!  Mrs. S was originally planning to teach high school English, but she admits teaching high schoolers how to Lindy Hop is much cooler.  Mr. S teaches chorus at Hopewell.  Together, their teaching style is fun and engaging.  They take great pride in making sure everyone feels comfortable on the dance floor.  For more info on them, click "Our Instructors" on the left.

Matthew Seneca

Mr. Seneca is an English teacher at Hopewell HS.  He caught the swing-dance bug in the summer of 1998 and has been dancing ever since. A long-time member of the Philadelphia dance scene, he enjoys Savoy-style Lindy and Blues.  Awards include a win at a swing dance contest held at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden (Veterans' Day, 2007). A certified teacher of the Alexander Technique, Mr. Seneca's background in movement and acting inform his dancing.
