Eric and Stephanie Simpson...

met at a party in Washington, DC and have been swing dancing since 2001, learning from the best of the best in the Washington, DC metro area. Some of their instructors include Steve Bailey, Carla Heiney, Tom Koerner & Debra Sternberg, David Rehm, Eric Robeson and Sylvia Skylar, and Tracy Butler, not to mention the scads of awesome dancers who taught them through the mere act of social dancing with them!

Eric and Stephanie have competed and placed in:
** 1st, Amateur Hollywood Swing, Virginia State Open, 2001
** 3rd, Open Hollywood Swing Division, VSO, 2002
** 1st, First Annual DC Balboa Contest, 2002

** Winners, The Great Gatsby Dance Off, 2006
** Eric and Stephanie have also won and placed in various Jack & Jill competitions to include Swing Fling, Virginia State Open, Atlanta Summer Swing Jam,  and Lindy Focus.

Soon after their first win at the Virginia State Open, they began dating, became engaged, and, in 2003, were married. Their love of swing dancing, big band music, and all things from the swing era has led them to the decision to the Lindy Hop in Charlotte. They hope to someday teach full-time, and their goal is to see the Charlotte swing scene become as great as the Washington, DC scene!

Since moving to Charlotte, they have decided to travel to more workshops, exchanges, and competitions, so they can widen the variety of lesson options for Charlotte dancers!
